Review
Father Collins park is Dublin's coolest and newest park. It is wholly sustainable and it extends to 26 hectares. The park offers a running / cycling track, 6 playing pitches, 6 fitness stations, two playgrounds, picnic areas and a skate park. If you are with a toddler, be prepared that he will be fascinated by the footbridges over the lake, the ducks, the swans, the fountains, the wind turbines and the promenade itself, so it is possible that you will not even visit the playground and he will be exhausted enough to go home... However, if you do reach one of the playgrounds, you will not be disappointed. The playground located on the northern part of the park is suitable even for the youngest wobblers. In the middle, there is a lovely play house surrounded by springers, see-saws, a toddler slide and a small boat. Older kids might opt for one of the climbing structures, the supernova or the single-point swing, that is one of the most popular play equipment of the place, so kids usually have to queue if they want to try it out. (Unfortunately there is no "traditional" swing on the playground.)
